Summer Housing for Faculty Programs
This page contains information for faculty and staff members running summer programs. Students interested in summer housing should visit the Summer Break website.
Residential Life is pleased to be able to offer summer housing to support academic and research programs in the School of Arts & Sciences, the School of Engineering, the SMFA at Tufts, and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. The experience of living on campus over the summer for people in academic programs is designed to be similar to the residence hall experience during the fall and spring semesters.
Eligibility
In order to offer a summer residential option, an academic program must:
- Have a full-time faculty or staff member in the School of Arts & Sciences, the School of Engineering, the SMFA at Tufts, or the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy sponsoring the program.
- Involve summer participants conducting research, enrolling in courses, or participating in faculty or staff directed educational experiences for the substantial duration of their stay on campus.
Each individual student living on campus during the summer is required to:
- Be at least 18 years old on move-in day.
- Submit proof of vaccination and minimum credible health insurance.
- Follow Tufts university policies while residing on campus.
Summer 2024
Registration was open from February 12 through March 1. Registration will reopen again next year. If have any questions, please contact the Dean of Students Office.

Grant Planning
If you are planning to submit a grant involving summer housing in the future, contact Residential Life prior to submitting the date to confirm the available dates and costs. We are happy to work with you to plan in advance. Dates for future summers are noted below:
