Spring Break
This page contains information regarding breaks during the 2023-24 academic year. Updates to this page concerning the 2024-25 academic year will be made by the end of September 2024.
Academics
Classes are held as scheduled on March 14 and March 15.
Students should plan to attend all scheduled class meetings in person on these days. Faculty are advised not to grant excused absences due to student vacation plans or travel preferences.
Housing
All students who live in the residence halls during the spring 2024 term are welcome to stay in their regular assignment on campus for all or part of spring break.
Students who choose to leave during the break are not required to check out. If leaving for the break, please close your windows and blinds, turn down your heat, unplug electronics, and lock your door.
Dining
Regular hours at each dining location continue through dinner service on March 15. Regular service resumes at 5 p.m. on March 24. During break, Hotung Café is open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday; all other dining locations are closed.
Jumbo Spring Break
TCU Senate, the Dean of Students Office, Tisch College, the Career Center, and the University Chaplaincy sponsor Jumbo Spring Break, a civic engagement experience during spring break week. Jumbo Spring Break offers social connections, participation in a civic engagement project, career treks, and more.
If you are traveling...
MBTA
The MBTA operates its usual service throughout the break. Students can get to Logan Airport and the main rail hubs, North Station and South Station, for around $2 on the MBTA. If you return via Logan Airport, the Silver Line trip from the airport is free.
Massport Shuttle
The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) operates a shuttle from the Hynes Convention Center in Back Bay to Logan Airport for $3. Taking the shuttle also grants you to priority access at the TSA security checkpoint. The return trip from Logan Airport to Hynes Convention Center is free. You can get more information and tickets here. There is direct access to the Hynes Convention Center from Tufts via the MBTA.
