How Do Donations Help?

Your donations go directly to the Asian American Center and support a variety of initiatives at the center:

Student Employment

We pride ourselves on providing a developmental opportunity for a cohort of at least 10 part-time student employees each academic year. We support student Interns in their professional and personal growth, all while they help create a more welcoming space for peers through regular shifts and programming. Many of our Interns stay employed with us for several years, some for all 4 years of their time in college! Donations give us greater flexibility to grant students more work hours including paid trainings, as well as hire/maintain student workers who have lost or are not eligible for work-study.

Programs & Events

In the 2022-2023 academic year, the AAC hosted approximately 50 open events for Asian and Asian American community, in addition to exclusive opportunities for first-year students in the Peer Leader Program! Donations allow us more resources for programming, including for our annual AAC Graduation Ceremony, APIDA Heritage Month Keynote, and End of Year Student Awards Banquet.

Center Operations

Donations through our Amazon Wishlist help to support the physical operations of the Asian American Center as a community space. These donations help us keep the center organized and sustain resources such as our free menstrual product supply, communal kitchen, free printing, Asian American library, arts & crafts station, and board game shelf. Amazon Wishlist donations allow us to save on basic costs of operating the space, thus allowing more of our budget to go to other center needs. Visit the wishlist page for information on items we are currently seeking.

Please contact the AAC Associate Director at emily.ding@tufts.edu if you have questions about donations of physical items. Due to limited space, we are unable to accept physical donations outside of our Amazon Wishlist without prior arrangement.
