Coaching and Tutoring

The Tufts University Academic Coaching program helps graduate and undergraduate students across the university develop academic skills, establish health habits, and grow as learners.

We provide a variety of individual and group programming that attends to the needs of a diverse community of learners and includes one-on-one coaching, academic skills workshops, and tutoring. Students may meet with members of our staff at any point during their Tufts career.

Academic Skills Workshops

Attend a workshop that will help you develop foundational skills for academic success. Topics vary and include tackling test anxiety, managing your time, public speaking and presentation skills, or managing a heavy reading load. Check out a Workshop.

Individual Coaching

Meet one-on-one with a professional Academic Coach or a Graduate Academic Mentor to learn more about your individual learning styles, managing your time and extracurricular commitments, and what resources may be helpful during your collegiate experience. Visit Tutor Finder to make an appointment with a coach!

FAQs

  • Students are encouraged to sign up for a drop-in tutoring session in advance through Tutor Finder, and share what they'd like to work on with the tutor. Drop-in tutoring provides students the flexibility to come at any point during the session and stay for any duration of time.

  • When you sign-up for a session in Tutor Finder, the location of the session will either show a specific building on campus or will say "Remote". If it is a remote session, you will receive the Zoom link once you sign up.

  • Prior to the session, it is beneficial for you to identify your questions and content areas that you'd like to go over with the tutor and submit them when you make your appointment through Tutor Finder. Additionally, make note of the modality of the tutoring session when you sign up and plan accordingly.

  • The StAAR Center does not provide tutoring support for every course offered at Tufts. If you are looking for support for a specific course, email us!
