Graduate Leadership in Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (GLIDE)
The Graduate Leadership in Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (GLIDE) program is designed to give graduate students the knowledge and practical tools to become effective change agents for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
Program Structure
The future of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in the workplace requires all conscientious individuals to participate in creating that new workplace environment. The skills for accomplishing a better future workplace are obtainable. The Graduate Leadership in Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (GLIDE) program is open to all students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
GLIDE begins with a week-long program in August. Students will participate in morning workshop sessions and embedding exercises with topics including understanding the business and ethics case for DEI in the workforce, navigating the legal landscape of DEI in the workplace, and practical skill building such as hiring and retention practices that enhance diversity. In the afternoons, students will hear from guest speakers.
From September through November, students will work individually or in groups on a practicum project. GLIDE will culminate with project presentations in December where students will reflect on their own experiences and learn from one another.
